At The Moment-------

The Latest

I have started to do some recording again, a song for a special little bird, my first attempt at singing up front.

I know I can not sing too well but this is special and I will try to do it justice, if it sounds awful when I finally finished, I have some one in mind to sing it for me.

Here is the song so far - Entire track is being re-recorded from scratch  - :)

Just a short note -:

I would not normally not have something that needs quite a lot more work, posted here, but it is for some one special, and is in tribute to her.

There a lot of problems still with this demo - it sounds awful in places! - The vocals - aaaaah...(one day I can hit the notes, the next day I can not), some of the words on this version are wrong - (see the right ones below), and the timing in places is way out (guitars & vocals) - bugger, but....it will give you some idea as to the song itself.

This recording was produced using a Samson Gtracks USB Microphone and Samplitude 10 Software on a Xp Windows PC, a cheap Fender Squire Telecaster guitar and my Fender hand-made 12 string Acoustic.

Little Lilly Feathers

I came close to deleting all my own composition from this site as I am not very happy with my attempts so far - I still may do so until I am confident in the final recordings as I will be re-recording everything I have recorded so far.

Most of it is horrible and not worth listening to!

Be patient with above player, if you have problems try turning it of and on again - it will eventually play.

I found out why my timing is so far out in the above song! There is some latency in recording time with the Samson G-Track Microphone.

The test track below had the midi drums and metronome recorded from the out put of the PC sound card and recorded back into a separate track via the G-Tracks - you who think that both tracks would be synched but they do not. The first part of the example below starts with just the midi track and metronome, then I turn the recorded audio track on and you can here how much the timing has shifted in the recording. This will get worse when you decide to record vocals or Lead guitar or another rhythm guitar if you follow the recorded rhythm guitar track which is already out and the error will be compounded again on top of this. So you either have to follow the metronome or midi track or shift any recording left a fraction  after each recording  you do with this microphone, very similar problems occur  when recording midi in real time, there will always be a slight delay in the recording which has to be adjusted.

No wonder I had so much timing problems with the above Demo. :)

I have finally finished the lyrics to a point where I am happy with them.

Here they are in tribute

I can still remember

Sitting on my shoulder

Showing me your love light every day

Little Lilly feathers

Brushed against my life time

Resting my shoulder preening away

When your loves so strong

To be able to continue on

When you're suddenly taken away

I can't explain it

The love for you that had grown up

Over the years I had known you

You blew me away

And you never flew away

I will never forget you

And the love that flowed from you

Resting on my shoulder preening away

The tears they tend to linger

When I think and remember

Showing me your love light every day

Now you're laying outside

Resting in the starlight

Beside my loves in the graves that I made

In the graves that I made
