Granite -1977 - at Redcliffe Sound Shell
This Band was formed in 1977 and was based in Redcliffe, Qld, Australia . We did the local circuit, some places I remember were out of the Brisbane area, such as "Lowood" and "Toowoomba".
We mainly played covers but we did write some songs and had them recorded as a demo tape at "Multimedia Studios" in Brisbane . The tracks are below if you care to listen, They are a bit raw and a several mistakes are obvious but overall, they are worth a listen. They where recorded in a four hour session in one take, we walked in , played and walked out, no re-recording was done and only the vocals and the acoustic guitar where over-dubbed. Pritty good for a band who had never been in a studio before. We reached the finals in the "Battle Of The Bands" in 1978 but the Band broke up in 1979, Vince is a family man now and has a bob-cat hire opperation down the coast. Alan, Clint and I moved on to help form the Band "STREET RATS".
I am still in contact with all the members to date, and I get to see them now and again, Alan is into the violin and is a school teacher, Clint wants to do something more original (has worked professionally as has Alan) and Vince seems content to be a family man after "Granite" broke up but we have been in contact!

Have Re-Mastered The Tracks Below for a better Sound Quality for this site.
All are 160kb MP3's
The original material was acquired from an old Cassette copy I have, so I can only do so much as in fixing any problems with the recordings as such as well as any mistakes which are evident. We wanted to call our first Album "Stoned Again" so I have named this compilation as was intended.
